A Little History
Behind Our
Enterprise

De Villiers & Strauss was formed in 1970 as a partnership between the late Pierre de Villiers and Johan Strauss and quickly grew into a thriving, modern practice which attracted young attorneys. Cedric Petit joined the firm soon after qualifying as an attorney in 1974. The firm evolved over time to become De Villiers Evans & Petit which acquired the old Shepstone & Wylie building in Acutt Street with a complement of more than 70 professionals and staff (in 1993) with Cedric Petit managing the firm for more than 20 years.

After Richard Evans retired from the partnership in 2007 to practice in Kloof, Cedric Petit and Penny Combrink decided to form a boutique firm in order to service their existing clients.
